Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 30, 2026

Attorney review required

This policy covers the HouseKeep pre-launch waitlist page only, and assumes that just email addresses and basic analytics are collected. It must be reviewed by a licensed attorney and substantially expanded before HouseKeep links bank accounts, processes payments, or handles financial transaction data — at which point GLBA, PCI-DSS, and expanded state and federal privacy obligations will likely apply.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how HouseKeep (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit our website and join our waitlist (the “Service”). This policy currently covers our pre-launch waitlist page only, and will be updated and expanded prior to full product launch.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide directly

  • Email address, when you join the waitlist

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Basic technical information associated with your waitlist signup, such as your browser user agent and the page or site that referred you
  • Standard analytics data (pages visited, time on page, referral source, device and browser type) via tools such as [PLACEHOLDER — e.g. Google Analytics, Plausible]
  • Cookies and similar technologies used for basic site analytics — see Section 6

Once HouseKeep launches its full product and links financial accounts (for example, via a provider such as Plaid), this section will be expanded to cover transaction data, account balances, and subscription data collected from linked financial institutions.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To notify you about HouseKeep's launch, product updates, and early access
  • To understand aggregate visitor behavior and improve the website
  • To respond to inquiries sent to our contact email

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. How We Share Information

We may share information with:

  • Service providers who help us operate the waitlist and analyze site traffic (for example, email delivery platforms, hosting and database providers, and analytics providers), bound by confidentiality obligations
  • Legal authorities, if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process
  • A successor entity, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

5. Data Retention

We retain waitlist email addresses until you unsubscribe or request deletion, or until HouseKeep launches and you either convert to a full account (governed by an updated policy at that time) or the waitlist is discontinued.

6. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for the basic analytics purposes described in Section 2.2. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. [PLACEHOLDER — add a cookie consent banner and detailed cookie table before launch if operating in jurisdictions requiring explicit consent, e.g. the EU or UK.]

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, including rights under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

  • To exercise these rights, contact us at evanmathur01@gmail.com
  • California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as defined under CCPA/CPRA
  • EU/UK residents: [PLACEHOLDER — confirm legal basis for processing, e.g. consent or legitimate interest, and identify a data protection representative if required]

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. Waitlist entries are stored in an access-controlled database and are not publicly readable. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. International Users

If you access the Service from outside [PLACEHOLDER — insert primary country of operation], your information may be transferred to and processed in that country. [PLACEHOLDER — add transfer mechanism details, e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses, if serving EU/UK users.]

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as HouseKeep's product evolves, particularly once financial account linking and payments are introduced. We will update the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide additional notice (for example, via email or a site banner).
